Frequently Asked Questions

Should I submit using the template?
It is recommended that authors format their submissions using the Microsoft Word template provided by Novalex Press. An output style that enables the styling of the reference list and in-text citations is provided for authors who use Endnote to create bibliographies.

What is the process for submitting a paper to the Novalex Press journal?
By selecting “Submit Manuscript” from the navigation menu-bar on the journal’s website, manuscripts can be submitted online through each journal’s submission system. The submission method makes it simple to monitor a paper’s progress through the editorial process. To gain access to the system, new users must register themselves.

Another option is to email the papers to the editorial offices of the relevant journal.

Which file formats are acceptable?
RTF and Microsoft Word (.doc &.docx) formats are both accepted.

How many pages is the maximum allowed?
Each manuscript is limited to 25 pages. There is a 35-page limit, with each additional page costing extra.

Do all articles that are submitted undergo peer review?
Yes, peer review is a process we use for all of our papers. Within 30 days of the paper’s submission date, the status will be updated. Before submitting their final article, authors will have a week to make the necessary revisions and implement the reviewers’ recommendations.

Is there a procedure for expedited publication review?
Our editorial team allows a fast-track review system since they understand the importance of time, particularly for individuals working in dynamic and competitive areas. When submitting the paper online, the author has the choice to choose this. Peer review, editorial decision, and author notification on this submission are all assured to occur within two weeks under this approach. The cost of the fast track review is just £49.

Is it feasible to suggest outside reviewers for my work?

Authors are encouraged by Novalex Press to suggest guest reviewers with relevant expertise to evaluate their work. In order to help individual researchers learn more about other researchers in the community, the practice aims to improve communication between experts and learners. Through discussion and evaluation of their work, new researchers will also be able to benefit from the experience of specialists. However, for correspondence, the author must supply the institutional email address to any Novalex Press magazine.

The editorial office, however, has the last say over whether to hire any suggested reviewer. We will assist you in locating qualified reviewers if you are short on candidates.

Which types of papers will not be reviewed before being rejected?
Papers that are out of scope, contain plagiarism, are submitted more than once, or are formatted incorrectly will be automatically rejected.

How can I tell if the study I submitted to Novalex Press journals was successful?
An automated confirmation email will be sent to you as soon as the paper has been successfully uploaded. The preliminary review will thereafter be initiated by the editors. The editors will get in touch with you if there are any issues with the text you submitted.

How do Novalex Press journals handle fee refunds?
• The author will not be prompted for payment if, after receiving an acceptance notification, the author decides not to publish their work.
• No reimbursement will be given if an author chooses to withdraw their work after paying the price.
• No reimbursement is available for papers that are discarded after being discovered to be plagiarized.

How long will it take for my article to be accepted, published, and made accessible online?
Being a member of CLOCKSS and CrossRef allows the Society for Science and Education, UK to publish accepted research publications as intellectual property with a persistent and actionable identifier. The article will be published online with DOI for instant citation within three working days of the paper’s acceptance and the author’s payment of the fee, thanks to the Online-First feature.
